Backlink Intelligence MCP

Use backlink-intelligence to inspect links, referring domains, anchors, intersections, and broken-link opportunities from an explicitly selected Ahrefs or Semrush account. Every result carries provider, endpoint, observation time, coverage, and cost evidence.

Evidence example

Method date: 2026-08-26. Source: the backlink_overview manifest contract and Ahrefs provider fixture asserted in tests/unit/backlink-intelligence.test.ts; this is a schema example, not a live domain audit or customer result.

Input:

json
{"provider":"ahrefs","target":"example.com","scope":"root_domain","limit":20}

Output: Representative schema example; request identifiers and target metrics are [redacted], while field names and nullability follow the tested fixture.

json
{"available":true,"provider":"ahrefs","target":"[redacted]","observed_at":"2026-08-25T09:30:00.000Z","metrics":{"backlinks":"[redacted]","referring_domains":"[redacted]","authority_score":null},"coverage":{"scope":"root_domain","complete":null},"source":{"endpoint":"/v3/site-explorer/backlinks-stats","request_id":"[redacted]"}}

Limitations: Provider indexes, freshness, scopes, and row limits differ; complete: null is not complete coverage, and a discovered link is not proof that it is live, followed, indexed, editorial, or valuable.

Permissions: Use only a connected Ahrefs or Semrush account authorised for the target and provider dataset; the skills read provider data and do not create outreach or change links.

Cost/latency: Skills are paid and reserve provider cost before the request; exact upstream usage and response time vary, and no latency SLA is stated.

Safe next action: Run backlink_overview for one authorised target and provider, inspect coverage, then request a bounded referring-domain page before any outreach decision.
