US Weather Alerts shows every official weather warning, watch and advisory in force right now for a US state or a specific location: tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, floods, heat, winter storms, hurricanes, fire weather and more.
Each alert comes with its severity and urgency, the counties or zones covered, when it starts and ends, what is expected, and the safety instructions issued with it. Filter to one alert type or to severe and extreme alerts only.
What you can do
- weather_alerts โ active warnings, watches and advisories for a state or a latitude and longitude
Who it's for
Families and travellers checking conditions, event, logistics and field-service teams deciding whether to go ahead, and newsrooms or apps that relay severe weather warnings.
How to use it
- Call weather_alerts with a 2-letter state code such as "TX" for the whole state
- Or pass latitude and longitude to see only the alerts covering that exact spot
- Add severity "severe" or an event such as "Tornado Warning" to cut the list down
- Read the instruction field for what people in the area should do
