Food Hygiene looks up the official food hygiene rating of any UK restaurant, café, takeaway, pub, school kitchen or food shop, along with when it was last inspected and how it scored.
Ratings run from 5 (very good) down to 0 (urgent improvement necessary) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; Scotland uses Pass or Improvement Required. Behind each rating are three inspection scores for hygiene, the building and how well the business manages food safety, given as penalty points where lower is better.
