Find nearby fuel stations and compare their reported prices using the NSW Government Fuel API through the Fuel Prices tool.

Useful workflows

  • Search nearby stations by coordinates, fuel type and radius.
  • Compare returned stations by price with cheapest_fuel.
  • Use coordinates to retrieve the nearest station; Australian station-ID lookup is not supported.

Connection and permissions

FuelCheck requires a consumer key and secret. Save them as nsw_fuel_api_key and nsw_fuel_api_secret. ToolRouter tries FuelCheck for NSW, ACT and Tasmania coordinates when credentials are present, and may use PetrolSpy if the source is unavailable.

Pricing basis

The NSW portal lists free and premium API access with account-specific quotas. ToolRouter pricing is shown on the Fuel Prices tool; connecting a source does not remove its access limits.

Evidence limits

  • The official v2 documentation names NSW and Tasmania. Routing ACT coordinates does not prove that every ACT station is returned.
  • Check data_source and price timestamps: a fallback result is not a direct FuelCheck result.
  • This source does not supply ToolRouter’s US price history or international averages.

Does FuelCheck cover all of Australia?

No. ToolRouter combines different sources for Australian regions. The NSW v2 documentation specifies NSW and Tasmania; source coverage and available records must be checked for the requested location.
