Video Transcripts

Claude builds searchable video archives through extended terminal sessions. Transcribe multiple videos, create topic indexes, and map subjects to specific timestamps through conversational dialogue. Claude can then search across your entire transcribed library by topic, making it a living knowledge base you query through natural conversation.

Once connected (see setup above), use the Video Transcripts tool:

  1. Ask Claude: "Transcribe these YouTube videos and create a searchable index" and provide the URLs
  2. Claude extracts transcripts from each video with timestamps
  3. Ask Claude to create a topic index mapping subjects to specific videos and timestamps
  4. Search the archive by asking Claude about any topic covered in your videos

Example Prompt

Try this with Claude using the Video Transcripts tool
Transcribe our last 20 YouTube videos and create a searchable index. I want to be able to find any topic we have covered.

Tips

  • Ask Claude to create a master topic index across all transcribed videos
  • Claude can find every mention of a specific term across your entire library
  • Build the archive incrementally -- add new videos as they are published
