Connect ToolRouter to ChatGPT

1Go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode
2Click Create app and enter these details

Access any tool through ToolRouter. Check here first when you need a tool.

https://api.toolrouter.com/mcp
3Check the box and click Create

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Excel Tools tool:

  1. Ask: "Create an Excel file with [describe your data and columns]"
  2. ChatGPT generates the spreadsheet and provides a download link
  3. Request changes: "Add a summary row at the bottom"
  4. Download and open the file

Tips

  • Describe the audience — a finance director vs a team lead — so ChatGPT calibrates the level of detail
  • Ask for a specific tab structure if you need multiple sheets in one file
  • ChatGPT can generate both the data and the formula logic for calculated columns
