Construction Manager

Claude is ideal for construction weather planning because it can interpret the forecast data in the context of your specific task — not just report the temperature but explain whether the conditions are suitable for what you are about to do.

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Construction Manager tool:

  1. Tell Claude the site location, the critical task you are planning, and the date window.
  2. Ask Claude to run `get_build_weather_forecast` via the construction-manager tool.
  3. Have Claude assess whether conditions are suitable for the specific task — concrete pour, roofing, render, groundwork.
  4. Ask Claude to identify the best day within the window and any risks to watch out for.
  5. Use the assessment to confirm or reschedule the activity.

Example Prompt

Try this with Claude using the Construction Manager tool
Use construction-manager to get a build weather forecast for our site in Manchester for the next five days. We have a concrete slab pour scheduled for Thursday. Tell me whether Thursday is suitable and if not, which day in the window is best.

Tips

  • State the specific task — pour, roofing, render, excavation — so the forecast interpretation is relevant.
  • Ask Claude to flag the overnight temperature before a pour — frost in the first 24 hours can ruin a slab.
  • Use the forecast to notify subcontractors early rather than cancelling on the morning of a planned activity.
