Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Construction Manager tool:

  1. Provide the site location and this week's planned activities.
  2. Run `get_build_weather_forecast` via construction-manager for the week ahead.
  3. Ask ChatGPT to assess each activity against the forecast and flag any that need rescheduling.
  4. Have ChatGPT produce a programme update with weather-related notes for distribution to the site team.

Example Prompt

Try this with ChatGPT using the Construction Manager tool
Use construction-manager to get a five-day build weather forecast for our site in Bristol. We have concrete footings on Monday, brickwork Tuesday to Thursday, and roof tiling Friday. Flag any weather risks for each activity and produce a site programme update I can send to the team.

Tips

  • Run the forecast at the start of the week rather than day by day to allow for activity rescheduling.
  • A programme update with weather notes distributed on Monday morning keeps the site team informed and reduces reactive decisions.
  • Ask ChatGPT to recommend contingency activities for rain days so the programme does not simply stall.
