Example Prompt

Try this with ChatGPT using the Ocean & Tides tool
Get marine weather alerts for sea areas Thames and Dover. Write a pre-departure safety brief covering the key conditions and any go/no-go considerations for a recreational day sail.

Tips

  • Request a go/no-go recommendation framed around your vessel class and crew experience
  • Ask for the specific sea areas relevant to your route rather than broad regions
  • Use ChatGPT to translate wind speed forecasts into sea state descriptions
