How to Plan a Stargazing Night with ChatGPT
Plan a stargazing session with ChatGPT and ToolRouter. Visible sky objects by location with observing guide.
ToolNight SkyChatGPT creates structured stargazing guides from sky visibility data — ordering objects by difficulty, explaining each one in accessible terms, and producing printable observing checklists for beginners or astronomy groups. It makes the data useful for people without any prior astronomy knowledge.

Steps
Once connected (see setup above), use the Night Sky tool:
- Ask: "What's visible in the night sky tonight from Manchester using night-sky?"
- ChatGPT returns a sky visibility report
- Request: "Write a beginner's stargazing guide for tonight with five objects to find"
- Follow up: "What time does the best observing window start based on moon phase?"
Example Prompt
Try this with ChatGPT using the Night Sky tool
What's visible tonight from Leeds? Write a beginner's observing guide covering five objects, what they look like, where to find them, and what equipment is needed for each.
Tips
- Ask ChatGPT to sort objects by naked-eye, binocular, and telescope visibility
- Request cardinal directions for each object — "look south-east, halfway up the sky"
- Ask for a seasonal context: "is this a good month for planets or deep-sky objects?"
