Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Finance Data tool:

  1. Ask: "Get current prices for WTI crude oil, Brent crude, gold, and silver"
  2. OpenClaw returns live prices with change data
  3. Ask: "Flag any commodity that has moved more than 3% today"

Example Prompt

Try this with OpenClaw using the Finance Data tool
Get current prices for oil, natural gas, gold, silver, and copper. Flag anything that has moved more than 2% in the last 24 hours and show the direction of each move.

Tips

  • Define a daily commodity check as a recurring task to maintain market awareness
  • Ask for percentage moves rather than absolute prices to compare across different commodity scales
  • Set threshold alerts for commodities that directly affect your business costs
