How to Track Regional Seismic Activity with Copilot
Track regional earthquakes in your IDE with Copilot and ToolRouter. Location-filtered seismic data.
ToolEarthquake MonitorCopilot delivers earthquake data in developer-friendly formats directly in your IDE -- GeoJSON feature collections for map applications, typed JSON for monitoring dashboards, and structured arrays for alert notification systems. Build seismic monitoring features, proximity-based alert triggers, and real-time data visualization components using actual USGS earthquake data, all from within your coding environment without switching to external data portals.
Connect ToolRouter to Copilot
1In your agent, go to Tools → Add a tool → New tool

- Copilot returns filtered seismic data for the region
- Ask: "Create a bounding box filter for this data in my monitoring app"
Example Prompt
Try this with Copilot using the Earthquake Monitor tool
Fetch recent earthquakes within 500km of Mexico City and output as JSON for my alert system.
Tips
- Use coordinates from the results to define monitoring zones in your application
- The data includes precise lat/long for accurate geographic filtering
- Combine with notification systems to build custom regional alerts
