OpenClaw automates the full accounts preparation pipeline. Point it at a folder of documents, define the accounting period, and it uploads, classifies, and generates accounts without step-by-step supervision. Useful for bookkeepers handling multiple clients or businesses that want to run quarterly account snapshots on a schedule.

Connect ToolRouter to OpenClaw

1Install the CLI
npm install -g toolrouter-mcp
2Call tools directly from OpenClaw
toolrouter-mcp call web-search search --query "AI tools"
toolrouter-mcp tools

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Accounts Preparer tool:

  1. Tell OpenClaw: "Prepare year-end accounts for the period ending 31 March 2024"
  2. Provide the documents — bank statements and invoices
  3. OpenClaw classifies all transactions and generates accounts automatically
  4. Review the output and ask for any category or figure adjustments

Example Prompt

Try this with OpenClaw using the Accounts Preparer tool
Prepare year-end accounts for April 2023 to March 2024. Upload these bank statements and invoices, classify all transactions, and produce a profit and loss summary with a category breakdown.

Tips

  • Define consistent category names at the start so repeated runs stay comparable
  • Batch multiple clients by running the same prompt with different document sets
  • Ask for a transaction count by category to spot misclassification before the final output
