Claude handles PDF merging with order confirmation — tell it which documents to combine and in what sequence, and it confirms the final structure before merging. Useful when you want to verify the page order makes sense before generating the output file.

  4. Ask Claude to verify the page count matches your expectation

Example Prompt

Try this with Claude using the PDF tool
Merge these three PDFs into one document in this order: cover page at https://example.com/cover.pdf, main report at https://example.com/report.pdf, appendix at https://example.com/appendix.pdf.

Tips

  • List URLs in the exact order you want pages to appear in the final document
  • Ask Claude to confirm how many pages each source document contributes
  • Use public file storage links (S3, Google Drive public share) for your source files
