Monitor how prices change over time by running regular searches and saving watchlist snapshots for comparison. Claude is strongest at interpreting the trend data: explaining whether prices are moving, why they might be shifting, and when to act.

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Marketplace Search tool:

  1. Define the product, condition range, and target regions you want to track over time.
  2. Use `marketplace-search` with `search_listings` to pull current pricing, then `watchlist_snapshot` to save the data point.
  3. Repeat the search on a regular cadence. Ask Claude to compare the latest snapshot against previous ones and identify price trends.
  4. Ask Claude to recommend whether to buy now, wait, or expand the search based on the trend direction.

Example Prompt

Try this with Claude using the Marketplace Search tool
Use marketplace-search to search for used AirPods Pro 2 across UK marketplaces and save a watchlist snapshot. Compare the current prices against my previous snapshots and tell me whether prices are trending down, stable, or rising. Should I buy now or wait?

Tips

  • Run the same search with identical filters each time so snapshots are comparable.
  • Ask Claude to flag outlier listings that would skew the average price trend.
  • Track at least three snapshots before drawing conclusions about trend direction.
