OpenClaw automates IP ownership research for large datasets. Feed it IPs from firewall logs, intrusion detection alerts, or traffic analysis and it will batch-resolve ownership for each, categorize by organization type, and output structured reports for your threat intelligence platform or incident response system.

Connect ToolRouter to OpenClaw

1Install the CLI
npm install -g toolrouter-mcp
2Call tools directly from OpenClaw
toolrouter-mcp call web-search search --query "AI tools"
toolrouter-mcp tools

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the IP Geolocation tool:

  1. Ask OpenClaw: "Who owns this IP address?"
  2. OpenClaw returns ISP, organization, and network details
  3. Research additional IPs as needed
  4. Compile the ownership data for your investigation

Example Prompt

Try this with OpenClaw using the IP Geolocation tool
Identify the owner of 192.0.2.1. I need the ISP name, organization, and whether this is a data center or residential network.

Tips

  • Use ownership data to prioritize security incident response
  • Data center IPs accessing consumer-facing pages are often bots or scrapers
  • Combine with geographic data for a complete picture of the IP
