How to Find Cheaper Alternatives with OpenClaw
Find Cheaper Alternatives to Any Product with OpenClaw and ToolRouter. Run batch dupe searches across product lists and automate alternative product research.
ToolDupe FinderOpenClaw lets you run `find_dupe` across a batch of products in a single job — finding cheaper alternatives for an entire product list, a shopping basket, or a procurement catalogue. This is the right approach when the research involves more products than you would look up interactively.

Once connected (see setup above), use the Dupe Finder tool:
- Prepare the list of products to find alternatives for — names, brands, and current prices.
- Run `dupe-finder` with `find_dupe` for each product and collect the alternatives in a normalized schema.
- Filter to alternatives with a similarity score above your threshold and sort by price savings.
- Return a batch report showing the best alternative for each original product and the total potential saving.
Example Prompt
Try this with OpenClaw using the Dupe Finder tool
Use dupe-finder to find cheaper alternatives for this product list in batch: [Dyson V15 £599, Le Creuset casserole £270, Nespresso Vertuo Plus £179]. For each product, find the best alternative under 40% of the original price. Return all results with product, alternative, price, saving_amount, and similarity_score in a stable schema.
Tips
- Sort batch results by saving_amount descending so the biggest cost-reduction opportunities surface first.
- Set a minimum similarity_score threshold to avoid suggesting alternatives that are too different from the original.
- Calculate total potential savings across the full list — this is the headline number for a procurement or budget report.
