Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Cartoon Maker tool:

  1. Describe the scene and the document section it belongs to.
  2. Generate the scene with cartoon_scene at the required dimensions for the layout.
  3. Confirm the scene's dimensions and orientation fit the document slot.
  4. Place the scene in the document with a caption and alt text.

Example Prompt

Try this with Copilot using the Cartoon Maker tool
Use cartoon-maker to create an illustrated opening scene for Module 3 of our online course — a student looking overwhelmed at a stack of books, then seeing a lightbulb moment. Flat, clean, educational illustration style, 1200x600 for the course header.

Tips

  • Specify landscape or portrait orientation based on where the scene will appear in the layout.
  • Ask Copilot to write the alt text and caption at the same time so the scene is ready for accessibility compliance.
  • Keep the style consistent across all module headers so the course feels cohesive.
