Address Geocoding

ChatGPT explains what was corrected in each standardized address, helping you understand and fix the underlying data quality issues. It flags low-confidence results with clear explanations of what might be wrong, turning address validation from a pass-fail check into a data quality improvement process.

Connect ToolRouter to ChatGPT

1Go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Address Geocoding tool:

  1. Ask: "Validate this address and return the standardized version" with the address
  2. ChatGPT returns the cleaned address and flags any issues
  3. Request: "Which of these addresses look invalid?" for a batch check

Example Prompt

Try this with ChatGPT using the Address Geocoding tool
Check if this address is valid and give me the properly formatted version: "123 Main St, Apt 4B, springfield". Add the missing state and zip code if you can.

Tips

  • ChatGPT can explain what was corrected in the standardized version compared to the original
  • Ask it to flag addresses with low confidence separately so you can review them manually
