The history of a domain tells you a lot about its value, risks, and legitimacy. A domain registered 20 years ago that has changed hands once is very different from one registered last month that has been transferred multiple times. Ownership history matters for domain acquisitions (is the price justified?), security investigations (who controlled this domain before?), and brand protection (has anyone misused a domain similar to yours?).

The lookup_domain skill provides current registration data including creation date, last update date, and registrar transfer history. While full historical WHOIS is not always available due to privacy regulations, the current registration data combined with creation and update dates reveals the domain lifecycle. This information is essential for due diligence when acquiring domains, investigating suspicious activity, and understanding the provenance of any domain you encounter.
