Space Data

Claude brings multi-step analytical reasoning to space exploration data, connecting NASA imagery with mission context and explaining the science behind astronomical phenomena at whatever knowledge level you need. Each query becomes a layered investigation where Claude traces relationships between current observations and broader research themes, identifies noteworthy near-Earth objects, and synthesizes data from multiple sources into a coherent picture of what is happening in our corner of the universe.

Steps

Once connected (see setup above), use the Space Data tool:

  1. Ask Claude: "Where is the ISS right now? Use space-data"
  2. Claude returns current coordinates and altitude
  3. Ask: "What country is it flying over? When will it pass over my city?"
  4. Get visibility predictions for your location

Example Prompt

Try this with Claude using the Space Data tool
Where is the International Space Station right now? Show me its coordinates and tell me what it is flying over.

Tips

  • Ask Claude to calculate when the ISS will next be visible from your city
  • Request multiple position checks over time to visualize the orbital path
  • Combine with APOD data for a complete daily space briefing
