Claude designs alert sound hierarchies through iterative terminal sessions. Generate sounds for each severity level, test their distinctiveness through conversation, and refine until operators can distinguish alerts by sound alone. Claude uses different pitch ranges and patterns for each level because you design the hierarchy together.

  2. Claude creates sounds for info, warning, error, and critical severity levels
  3. Request: "Make the critical alert more urgent and the info sound more subtle"
  4. Download and configure in your monitoring system

Example Prompt

Try this with Claude using the Sound Effect Generator tool
Generate alert sounds for a DevOps monitoring dashboard: info (gentle), warning (attention-getting), error (urgent), and critical (impossible to ignore). Each should be distinct and instantly recognizable.

Tips

  • Ask Claude to use different pitch ranges for each severity so they never overlap
  • Generate alerts that are effective in noisy office environments
  • Test that each alert is distinguishable when played at low volume
