The electricity bill and the solar installer quote sit in different spreadsheets, and most homeowners never connect them properly. Working out the real financial case for solar — or for shifting consumption to off-peak hours — requires combining two data sources that are rarely seen together.

Using both electricity_prices and solar_estimate together lets you model what your bill would look like under different scenarios: solar only, battery storage, time-of-use shifting, or a combination. You can calculate exactly how much of your solar generation you would self-consume versus export, and what each scenario saves against today's tariff.

Energy-conscious homeowners building the business case for investment, housing associations modelling whole-estate energy upgrades, and financial advisers helping clients evaluate green energy decisions all use this combined approach to get to a number they can act on.
